Hi. I've downloaded the installer - expanded it and tried to mount the .dmg file - system (10.5.5) rejects it, saying that it's damaged and mounting it could damage my system. I've repeated this several times, with different downloads. Always happens.

Here's the exact message: "The disk image you are opening may be damaged and could damage your system."

A little pop up window says "no mountable file systems".

Disk utility says "no partition map."

How can I get a copy that my system will mount?

Thanks,
Mark

Some browsers are confused when they download a .dmg file and adding an extra extension to it.
The solution: download the file (don't let your browsers try to expand it), remove any extra extension and mount the downloaded .dmg file.

That did it! Moved to Firefox instead of Safari.

Thanks. Mark.
