Things are going pretty fast. Within a couple of days/week we will release version 2.0 of Mac Travel Recorder.
There're a lot of code changes 'under the hood', but the most important new feature is the build-in GeoCoding option.
You can now GeoTag your photo's without the use of additional software.

But before I finish up things and rewrite the manual I need some feedback. If you want to play with the 2.0 beta version, you can download it from here.

Before you install this preview, you need to install the exiftools, which can be downloaded from here.

Just let me know you're thoughts.

Thanks. I've made the correction.

Nobody interested in the new features?

I was thinking of calling the new version Mac Travel Recorder Pro and offer it as a free update to current customers, while new customers will have the option to buy the regular or the pro version. But if the current customers have no interest (as it looks right now), there probably is no reason to make it a free update.

Nice new features. Once they are debugged, of course.

The geocoding feature in your new 2.0 beta only partially worked. It did find and display the correct location on the map for each of the pictures. But it would not write the new tags to the picture files. The exiftools package did install properly, as far as I can tell. I can start up exiftools from Terminal. So the problem is probably related to the way the new app is attempting to call the exiftools routines.

Also, the problem with slow export to GPX (and other formats) with a large number of data points is still there. I downloaded a 15,000+ waypoint track log and attempted to export it to GPX. Again, like in the old version, the progress bar goes fast when I first start but slows down to a crawl. After 30 minutes, it was only halfway through. I had to abort it there. The 15,000+ waypoints represent only a fraction of what my Qstarz BT-Q1000P is capable of storing. I'd hate to think what would happen if I filled it to capacity.

Writing the tags is not implemented in the preview version. I hope to finish that this week. It will only be available in the registered version though.

Yes, otherwise the Geotag-tab will be disabled.

See my previous answer about that.
